New York City & Broadway Adventures Unveiled
Broadway Sessions: Interview with Broadway Performer Lauren Sambataro
I am absolutely thrilled to bring back the Broadway Sessions series and introduce you to one of my favorite Ozians, Lauren Sambataro! This dynamic, multi-talented woman continually inspires me to be the best I can be. I am blessed to know her and am pumped for you to read this interview!
On The Road: Autumn Crockett Cooper
Welcome to this week's edition of On The Road, featuring the gorgeous Autumn Crockett Cooper! For those of you who are new to The Backstage Blonde, here's a little summary about what's going on. On The Road is an interview series shot by local photographers across the country featuring actors who are currently preforming in Broadway national tours. Practically everyone in the current Broadway company of Wicked was on the national tour before moving to the Great White Way, and I've always loved hearing their stories from the road. I think national tours are important because they make exceptional theatre accessible to people who might never make it to New York City. I first saw Wicked as a teenager when the tour came to Tampa, Florida! So I hope you enjoy getting to know my talented new friend and fellow Wicked family member, Autumn!
On The Road: Jenny Florkowski
I am even more excited than usual about today's On The Road interview, because it features a beautiful human I've gotten to dress on Broadway! I truly can't say enough good things about Jenny Florkowski. This dynamic woman has been part of the Wicked family for many years. She is passionate about teaching, and she runs her own jewelry business! Jenny is kind, incredibly talented and an absolute joy to be around. Getting to work with her at Wicked was a dream! I hope you enjoy getting to know my sweet friend.
Broadway Sessions: Interview With Broadway Performer Courtney Iventosch
For the third edition of Broadway Sessions, I am thrilled to introduce my beautiful friend Courtney Iventosch! She is a member of the Female Ensemble at Wicked, so you might recognize her from my Instagram. Courtney and I spend a ton of time together backstage, and she makes me smile without fail every single day. She is an insanely talented dancer and is truly a little fire ball of energy and sunshine. We first met about a year ago while Courtney was covering another girl’s vacation leave of absence. (Often times at Wicked they bring in actors from the touring company or Wicked alumni to cover for people on Broadway. Courtney first joined the Wicked family in 2010). Toward the end of her contract, we found out in the happiest twist of fate that she was being offered a full-time ensemble track on Broadway!! I was OVERJOYED! (The girl she replaced - who I also love very much - left us for Frozen. Small musical. You’ve probably never heard of it.) Anyways, Courtney is a San Jose State University alumni and California native. She made her Broadway debut in the hit musical Something Rotten! I’m so excited for you to get to know my adorable friend, and I hope you love her interview!
Broadway Sessions: Interview With Broadway Performer Sterling Masters
Welcome to the second installment of Broadway Sessions. I love how I get to take you backstage on Broadway with my favorite actors! This interview is very special to me, as it features one of my very first friends at Wicked, Sterling Masters. We first met back in 2015 when I started working at Wicked as a Swing Dresser. Sterling plays the Witch's Mother and is a member of the female ensemble, so I get to play dress up with her in Oz every day! She is an insanely talented dancer, loyal friend, bride to be and a cat mom. I am so excited for you all to get to know her and learn about her eight year journey in Oz!
