I am sure you have all figured out by now I can get pretty nerdy when it comes to theater history. (I attribute that to my parents. On vacations, they were always taking us to tour old buildings and museums.) There is just something magical about old theaters that has always fascinated me. I think it's because Manhattan is constantly changing, adding new buildings and tearing down old ones, but these beautiful old theaters have truly stood the test of time! (Plus I still have a bunch of pictures in winter coats that I am trying to quickly use up because it's not winter anymore haha) So let's dive into the history of the Book of Mormon's Broadway home: the Eugene O'Neil Theatre. 

So I’ve worked on Broadway for two and a half years now and never in my wildest nightmares did I ever think I would perform on a Broadway stage one day. And then it happened.

Whenever someone I know is planning a trip to New York, their first question is practically always the same: how can I get cheap Broadway tickets? I'll be honest with you, my bargain ticket hunting days are somewhat behind me, as I rarely get to be an audience member. It's difficult to get to see other shows when you are always working at your own! For this post, I decided to mix things up a little and invited a special guest writer to help me out. I'm excited to introduce you to my beautiful friend Caitlin McNeilage. She is a wealth of Broadway knowledge and knows all the tricks to getting the best deals on discount tickets.

I am so excited to introduce you to one of my favorite people on Broadway: Butch Servilio. Butch is the Head of Automation at The Lion King and a long time Local One member. He generously invited me to check out Pride Rock and the automation underneath the stage. As Butch regaled me with hilarious stories from the show I warned him that he was never going to be able to get rid of me. Getting to know Butch has been one of the major highlights of my Broadway experience and I am so excited to share this interview with you!
