Current Obsessions: Apartment Essentials

Before my big move a few months ago, I did tons of research on every home goods product you can imagine. I like being an educated consumer! Quality is extremely important to me, especially when buying products I’ll use regularly. This blog post highlights a handful of new products I found that have helped make my new apartment feel like home!

Burrow

Burrow is a relatively new company and is the remedy for every frustrated Millennial trying to buy a couch. When I began my search for the perfect couch I had five semi-tricky requirements: size (my apartment is tiny), affordable price, comfort (I straight up refuse to own an uncomfortable couch, aesthetic (it had to be pretty), and fast delivery (some companies like West Elm or Joy Bird take months to deliver). And guess what!? Burrow checked off every single item on my list! (The stain resistant fabric is a major added bonus.)

I genuinely can’t speak highly enough of this company and my new couch. Burrow furniture is all modular so constructing my sofa was extremely easy. Building my sofa and ottoman literally only took 15 minutes and didn’t require any tools. Plus, when I move into my next (hopefully larger) apartment and want to upgrade from a loveseat to a classic sofa, all I have to do is buy a modular seat to expand my current couch. Burrow is GENIUS.

Bear

For my new apartment I decided to start fresh and buy a whole new bed. Researching mattresses was a little time consuming because there are so many “box” foam mattresses on the market these days. I finally decided to buy a Bear mattress and bedding because Bear’s products have been clinically proven to promote a more restful sleep, aid in quicker recovery, and help you wake up with more energy. Bear's Celliant® Bedding provides the perfect night's sleep and is the latest in textile innovation. Honestly I don’t fully understand the science behind it but by boosting tissue oxygenation and local blood flow, it restores tired muscles and improves your overall well-being. Best of all, Celliant® is infused into the fabric of your bedding, so it will never wash out.

Bear taught me that a higher thread count doesn’t mean better sheets. In fact, it can mean a stiffer, less-breathable fabric. Bear found 400 thread count to be the perfect combination of breathable, soft and durable. Breathable cotton is combined with Celliant's temperature regulating properties to help you stay cool and dry throughout the night, which is awesome because sometimes I get really hot while I’m sleeping. I have a Bear mattress, mattress cover and two sets of their sheets. The mattress cover is the best one I’ve ever owned because it’s soft and doesn’t feel hard and crinkly like many other brands. I am so happy with my mattress and Bear bedding and I highly recommend checking out this awesome company!

Allswell

I am so excited to partner with this wonderful company! They sent me the most beautiful blankets, pillows and soft sheets for my apartment and I am in LOVE. The throw blankets are so soft and make my living room feel even cozier. My favorite Allswell items are the two giant sham pillows on my bed. They’re so soft and fluffy! I would definitely recommend checking them out for all of your bedding needs.

Onsen

These towels are currently rocking my world. Onsen towels are so great because they’re made out of Supima cotton which ranks in the top one percent of the finest grade cotton in the world. On average Supima cotton is 45% stronger than conventional cottons. The longer fiber resists pilling or breaking, resulting in incredibly resilient products that last. The length of the fiber makes for smoother fabrics that feel lusciously soft and only get softer with time. Plus Supima's fine fibers absorb dye at a more even and uniform rate, which means wash after wash your towels will hold onto their rich colors.
