New York City & Broadway Adventures Unveiled
On The Road: Ixchel Cuellar
Hello babes! Today I want to introduce you to my new friend, Ixchel Cuellar. She grew up in San Francisco and is a proud Penn State alumna. My favorite fun fact about Ixchel is she made her Broadway debut in April 2016 in Finding Neverland BEFORE she even graduated from college! (PLUS she only had four days of rehearsal before making her debut. Craziness.) You all know I absolutely love babes who chase down their dreams! Ixchel is a little brunette ball of sunshine and I’m so happy she agreed to this On The Road interview and photoshoot with local photographer Kate Burkholder while she was in Tucson, Arizona with the Finding Neverland national tour. Unfortunately, the tour has closed, but click here to follow Ixchel’s NYC adventures. Happy reading!
On The Road: Kyle Anderson
For today’s edition of On The Road, I am happy to introduce you all to another hunk from the Something Rotten national tour, Kyle Nicholas Anderson! Kyle grew up in Redmond, Washington, and was a real-life Troy Bolton with a love for both baseball and musical theatre. In the 9th grade, Kyle’s life forever changed when he was cast in a production of Les Miserables and completely fell in love with theatre. Kyle graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in musical theatre and went on to perform at the MUNY in Oklahoma and at the Papermill Playhouse in A Christmas Story: The Musical. He is an adorable tenor, understudied Nigel in Something Rotten and has “walking in heels on a raked stage” on his resume. (Obviously I’m obsessed with him.) I hope you enjoy Kyle’s interview!
On The Road: Daniel Beeman
Today’s edition of On The Road features the extremely handsome renaissance man (literally), Daniel Beeman! Daniel grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and graduated from the University of Missouri. My favorite random fun fact about him is that while he was growing up in the cornhusker state, he was a competitive swimmer AND participated in Irish dance competitions! Truly a renaissance man. Daniel just finished dancing around the United States (understudying Shakespeare and sometimes dressed as an egg) in the first national tour of the hit Broadway show, Something Rotten. I hope you enjoy getting to know him!
Teale's Top Ten: Backstage Supplies for Two Show Days
I always joke that packing my backpack for a two show day feels like packing for summer camp. When you are locked in a windowless theater all day, you need a lot of supplies! (Or maybe I just do because I’m a littleeee bit high-maintenance.) Here is a list of what I have in my backpack (and dressing room station) on a typical two show day!
On The Road: Jenny Florkowski
I am even more excited than usual about today's On The Road interview, because it features a beautiful human I've gotten to dress on Broadway! I truly can't say enough good things about Jenny Florkowski. This dynamic woman has been part of the Wicked family for many years. She is passionate about teaching, and she runs her own jewelry business! Jenny is kind, incredibly talented and an absolute joy to be around. Getting to work with her at Wicked was a dream! I hope you enjoy getting to know my sweet friend.
