New York City & Broadway Adventures Unveiled
My Broadway Birthday Party
I have had a lot of amazing birthday celebrations, but this year has already earned the number one spot… and it's not even over yet! On Thursday night, I had my birthday party at the PHD Terrace at the Dream Midtown. It was absolutely wonderful dancing all night on a Manhattan rooftop with all of my favorite people!
Broadway History: The Ambassador Theatre
The first time I ever visited the Ambassador Theatre I was dropping off my resume for the Wardrobe Supervisor of Chicago. I wandered back and forth in front of the theatre for a while (trying to look cool even though I was nervous and a little lost) before finally finding the stage door. I rang the buzzer next to the big gate and a heavy metal door swung open. Then I had to walk down a super creepy alleyway until finally reaching the stage door. To me, Broadway theaters all feel like walking into weird magical old haunted houses. I just can’t get enough! I never realized what a history nerd I was until I started this blog. So, I hope you enjoy this post about one of the most unique theaters in the world, and a New York City historic landmark, the Ambassador Theatre.
Broadway History: The Eugene O'Neil Theatre
I am sure you have all figured out by now I can get pretty nerdy when it comes to theater history. (I attribute that to my parents. On vacations, they were always taking us to tour old buildings and museums.) There is just something magical about old theaters that has always fascinated me. I think it's because Manhattan is constantly changing, adding new buildings and tearing down old ones, but these beautiful old theaters have truly stood the test of time! (Plus I still have a bunch of pictures in winter coats that I am trying to quickly use up because it's not winter anymore haha) So let's dive into the history of the Book of Mormon's Broadway home: the Eugene O'Neil Theatre.
BCEFA Easter Bonnet 2017
So I’ve worked on Broadway for two and a half years now and never in my wildest nightmares did I ever think I would perform on a Broadway stage one day. And then it happened.
Theater History: Hello Dolly
In honor of this classic show taking Broadway by storm again, I thought it would be fun explore its long history on the Great White Way and beyond.
