New York City & Broadway Adventures Unveiled
31st Annual BCEFA Broadway Flea Market
One of my favorite Broadway events throughout the year was hands down the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction. Every year, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS holds an annual flea market to raise money for their cause. At this year’s event onSunday, Sept. 24, all previous records were broken and $1,023,309 was raised! The Flea Market was held in Shubert Alley and along West 44th and 45th Streets. It is always such a beautiful day watching the Broadway community and thousands of loyal Broadway fans come together to support an organization we all believe in.
New York Fashion Week 2017
This was my third season dressing New York Fashion Week, and as I'm sure you can imagine, it is always a wild experience. This season I was given the opportunity to dress three shows: Carolina Herrera, Coach, and Delpoza. I thought it would be fun to show you guys pictures from my backstage experience and of the models I dressed this year. While I was sitting on the floor backstage by my rack of clothes at the Coach show James Franco walked right past me! I genuinely hope the childlike adrenaline and butterflies I get before dressing a fashion show never go away.
BCEFA Easter Bonnet 2017
So I’ve worked on Broadway for two and a half years now and never in my wildest nightmares did I ever think I would perform on a Broadway stage one day. And then it happened.
How To: Score Discounted Theater Tickets
Whenever someone I know is planning a trip to New York, their first question is practically always the same: how can I get cheap Broadway tickets? I'll be honest with you, my bargain ticket hunting days are somewhat behind me, as I rarely get to be an audience member. It's difficult to get to see other shows when you are always working at your own! For this post, I decided to mix things up a little and invited a special guest writer to help me out. I'm excited to introduce you to my beautiful friend Caitlin McNeilage. She is a wealth of Broadway knowledge and knows all the tricks to getting the best deals on discount tickets.
Broadway History: Father Duffy Square
Every single day thousands of people pass through Times Square. Tourists flock to take pictures on the gigantic red steps that sit over the TKTS booth. Even though the north end of Times Square is a well-known part of the iconic American landmark, not many people know it has its' own name: Father Duffy Square. Even fewer know the historic significance behind the name. So whether you're a history nerd, obsessed with all things NYC (like me), or if you just enjoy being the know-it-all on your family vacation; buckle up for this short little history lesson!
